This research revealed the general law of heat transfer enhancement of evaporation on the groove surfaces at the nanoscale by the molecular dynamic simulation. Based on the nonlinear positive correlation between the defined sectional area and the heat transfer performance, a method is developed to convert the maximum heat transfer and evaporation rate to a mathematical conditional extremum solution. By solving the Euler-Lagrange equation, the optimal structure of the groove surface can be obtained directly. The proposed method provides a new insight into the structure design for heat transfer enhancement of evaporation at the nanoscale.
