On January 5, 2026, Shandong Institute of Advanced Technology (SDIAT) held the 2026 New Year Symposium. Attendees included Lin Cheng, Member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Vice Chairman of the Shandong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and President of SDIAT, members of SDIAT's leadership team, as well as selected researchers, technical staff, and administrative personnel.

During the symposium, experts and scholars engaged in in-depth exchanges. They reviewed the achievements of past work, shared their experiences since joining the institute, clarified their personal future development directions, and put forward suggestions for SDIAT's long-term development, fully demonstrating the spirit of youth scholars who forge ahead with determination and strive for excellence.

President Lin Cheng pointed out that 2025 was a crucial year for SDIAT to consolidate its development foundation. The foundation of SDIAT has never been hardware facilities such as laboratories and office buildings, but the numerous researchers who work diligently here. The unique ethos of "tranquility, rationality, and imagination" nurtured by SDIAT serves not only as fertile ground for scientific and technological innovation but also as a cradle for talent development. We have always adhered to the core values of equality, freedom, and openness, implemented an open, inclusive, efficient, and pragmatic administrative management model, stayed true to our original aspiration for scientific research, maintained a clear direction forward, strived to create a warm and caring academic atmosphere, and unwaveringly pursued the right path.

President Lin Cheng emphasized that scholars' sense of accomplishment stems from the academic dignity they uphold in their hearts, not from superficial fame and glory in the outside world. All researchers should regard scientific research as a lifelong pursuit, develop a habit of dedicated scholarship, engage in academic work with peace of mind and live a stable and calm life, fulfill their scientific research missions with a rational spirit, and focus on doing the right things rather than just pursuing short-term results. SDIAT has always insisted that individual rights are paramount and firmly believed that a sound scientific research ecosystem can nourish civilization and drive development. There are no shortcuts to growth; only through the accumulation of time and long-term perseverance can we move forward steadily and achieve lasting success.
