On February 7, students from the International Department of Shandong Experimental High School came to Shandong Institute of Advanced Technology (SDIAT) for a study tour. Zheng Cui, Member of the Party Committee and Director of the Thermal Science Research Center of SDIAT, accompanied them, conducted close exchanges and interactions with the students, and kicked off the study tour.

During the study tour, the students visited SDIAT’s Library, Laboratories,and AMS Global Data Center, embarking on a scientific journey from theory to practice and from popular science to exploration. They truly felt SDIAT's solid accumulation and vigorous progress in cutting-edge disciplinary fields such as cosmic ray detection and precision measurement. Researchers explained cutting-edge scientific knowledge including precision measurement, low-temperature technology and cosmic ray data processing to the students in easy-to-understand language, and demonstrated advanced experimental equipment and abundant scientific achievements on site. The students took the initiative to ask questions, took careful notes, and interacted actively with the researchers, absorbing scientific nourishment, exploring the mysteries of scientific research, and sowing the seeds of love for science in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.

After the visit, a high-level youth talent exchange meeting was held. At the meeting, three researchers from SDIAT — Cheng Shao, Zhe He and Tong Su —shared their perseverance and growth in pursuing studies abroad and engaging in scientific research with the students by combining their own overseas study experiences and scientific research practice, interpreted the current cutting-edge scientific research trends in depth, and conveyed the scientific research spirit of "being down-to-earth, daring to explore and being bold in innovation". The three researchers also had face-to-face communications with the students, patiently answered their questions regarding major selection, study abroad planning and scientific research entry, and encouraged the International Department students, who were determined to pursue overseas studies, to set lofty ideals, diligently consolidate their knowledge foundation, always keep their love and reverence for science, and contribute to China's scientific and technological progress by devoting themselves to the scientific research cause after returning to China upon completing their studies.

The students all expressed that they had gained a lot and felt deeply touched by this study tour. They not only had close access to cutting-edge scientific research achievements and deeply understood the great significance of basic scientific research, but also were deeply moved by the sincere dedication of researchers who studied abroad and then returned to China to engage in scientific research, as well as their rigorous, pragmatic and exploratory spirit. In the future, they will take this study tour as an opportunity to study scientific and cultural knowledge diligently, actively cultivate innovative thinking and practical abilities, always keep in mind their patriotic feelings, fully devote themselves to the motherland's scientific research cause after returning to China upon completing their studies, contribute their knowledge and skills to building a strong science and technology country, strive to grow into new-era young people with ideals, abilities and responsibilities, live up to their youth, forge ahead, and write a new chapter of serving the country with their youthful strength.
