From March 27 to 29, 2026, the 2nd Symposium on Particle Detection and Electronics Technology for Non‑Accelerator Experiments was successfully held at Shandong Institute of Advanced Technology (hereinafter referred to as SDIAT). The symposium was co‑hosted by the Nuclear Electronics and Nuclear Detection Technology Branch of the Chinese Nuclear Society and Shandong University, and organized by Shandong University, the State Key Laboratory of Dark Matter Physics at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and SDIAT. Top experts and scholars from home and abroad gathered for in-depth exchanges on cutting-edge developments in the field.
Focusing on the development trends of particle detection and electronics technology for non‑accelerator experiments, the symposium centered on frontier research areas including dark matter, neutrinos, nuclear astrophysics, cosmic rays, and gravitational waves. In-depth academic exchanges were conducted on core technologies such as the R&D of particle detection devices and the design of electronics systems. Experts and scholars from universities and research institutes, including Shandong University, Institute of High Energy Physics (Chinese Academy of Sciences), Purple Mountain Observatory (Chinese Academy of Sciences), University of Science and Technology of China, Tsheng University, and China Institute of Atomic Energy, gathered to share the latest research progress and pool wisdom for the development of the field.

The successful convening of this conference has promoted SDIAT to establish close cooperation with top research institutions, experts and scholars in relevant fields, further enhanced SDIAT’s industrial influence and academic reputation in this field, and accumulated valuable experience for SDIAT to build academic platforms and conduct cutting-edge research in the future. The successful conclusion of this symposium is a vivid practice of SDIAT in fulfilling its academic mission. Going forward, taking this conference as an opportunity, SDIAT will continue to focus on relevant frontier areas, strengthen domestic and international exchanges and cooperation, gather high-quality resources, and contribute to breakthroughs in particle physics research in China.
